Q: What's the difference between your "free" and "premium" themes?

A: The premium themes usually have more style variations than the free ones, so they have more color schemes, etc., to choose from. There are a couple of exceptions to this: TK Business and TK Deep Purple are two premium themes that only have one style each. Also, some of the premium templates, such as TK Razor, are not available in a free version, so you would have to buy it if you wanted it. Both the free and premium templates are powered by the same framework, so they have the same module positions. I strongly suggest that you try a free one before buying a template or membership to ensure your satisfaction.

Q: What payment methods do you accept?

A: Paypal is the only payment method accepted at this time.

Q: Do I need a paypal account to purchase a template or membership?

A: No, you can checkout as a guest.

Q: Do you offer a membership club?

A: Yes, I've recently added the option of a simple, affordable membership club plan. See home page for details.

Q: I want to purchase a single template. How will I receive my download?

A: Directly after paying securely with paypal, you will receive two emails: a receipt from paypal and a download link email from ThemeKat. The two emails will be sent to your paypal email address. You can then download the template an unlimited amount of times for 90 days by clicking on the download link. In the unlikely event that you do not receive the download link, please contact me and I will resolve the situation as soon as possible.

Q: I want to purchase a membership. How will I get my login details?

A: Directly after paying with paypal, you will receive your login info. It will be sent to your paypal address. If you have any trouble logging in, didn't get your login info, etc., please contact me and I'll resolve the situation ASAP.

Q: What is your refund policy?

A: Because I distribute digital downloads, I cannot offer refunds or exchanges. Feel free to try one of the free templates before purchasing a premium template. This will give you a good idea of whether or not you will like a premium template because all ThemeKat templates are powered by the same framework (module positions, etc., are the same).

Q: Do your templates come with sample data already installed?

A: No, not at this time, however, I've created a universal sample data package that can be used for any ThemeKat template.  It can be downloaded here. Keep in mind it can't be installed over an existing joomla installation, it must be a installed just like a brand new installation of joomla. After you have installed the sample data installation, simply install your ThemeKat template and make it the default template in Template Manager.

Q: I've installed the template, but it doesn't look like the live demo. Why not?

A: This is because you have to add your own content to it. Once you add your own articles and modules it will start to shape up and look more like the live demo. For a more detailed explaination of why a newly-installed ThemeKat template often looks "empty", please refer to the installation tutorial.

Q: I didn't receive my download link? What should I do?

A: Please contact me if you did not receive your download link and I will resolve the situation as soon as possible. Occasionaly the IPN message from paypal fails and the template has to be sent manually by email attachment.

Q: I love this template you are using for this website! Can you sell it to me?

A: No, sorry. This is the Catalyst theme designed by YOOtheme. You have to purchase a membership to YOOtheme to use it for your website.

Q: How do I turn off the backlink?

A: In the template's admin panel, under the profiles tab, find warp branding, choose no, then save.

Q: I'm having technical difficulties. What should I do?

A: Feel free to contact me, and I will do my best to answer your questions, just keep in mind I cannot guarantee that I can answer all of your questions. This is precisely why I don't charge for tech support. Unlike most Joomla template providers, whether you have purchased a template or not the support is free. I'm a college student (a web development major), not a professional web developer...yet. Because of this there will undoubtly be some questions that are beyond the scope of my knowledge, but feel free to ask your questions anyway and I'll see if I can answer them for you.

Q: I want to customize the look of the template. How do I do it?

A: This usually requires modifying the css. By far the easiest way to figure out what code needs to modified is to use the addon for firefox called firebug. You can just click on different elements and it will tell you what css has been applied to it and what the file locations are. If you are having trouble customizing your css feel free to contact me and I'll see if I can help.

Q: How do I turn off the date at the top of the page?

A: This can be done in the template's admin panel under the profiles tab.

Q: How do I insert facebook, google+, and twitter icons into my articles?

A: These options can be chosen under the general tab. The icons can be inserted in blog/featured layout, but not in single articles.

Q: How do I adjust sidebar and page widths?

A: This can be done under the profiles tab.

Q: Why are both sidebar-a and sidebar-b appearing on the right side of the screen?

A: The default module layout for sidebar-a puts it on the right side of the screen. This can be changed in the template admin panel under the profiles tab. Just change the sidebar-a option to left and save. This will make it so there is one sidebar on each side. You can also put both on the left side if you prefer.

Q: What are the licensing terms for these templates?

A: All ThemeKat templates are GPL GNU licensed, which means you can use them on unlimited domains for commercial or non-commercial purposes. You are free to modify the source code as you wish, except for the YOOtheme copyright notices found in the source code at the top of each file.
